In Hartford, Brookman Says He’ll Primary - On A Slate With rJo Winch

Made you click, didn’t it?

That’s right. City blogger Kevin Brookman has made a cottage industry of beating up on Council President rJo Winch for the past few years. But neither of them got the Democratic endorsement for city council last night, and now Brookman says he and Winch will likely form a slate together to run in the primary. Together, they’d run with mayoral candidate Edwin Vargas.

Kevin — ever heard of the whole politics and strange bedfellows thing?

“To say the least,” Brookman said. ”But, and i don’t mean to sound corny, but it’s about what’s best for Hartford. And what they did last night is not best for Hartford. No matter how they want to justify it…they did not pick the best of the best. I think rJo, as much as I’ve pointed out her deficiences…she’s somebody that I’ll be able to work with.”
