And Then There Were Two...And Counting

By Steve Goode

Shawn Wooden, a city resident and attorney who was active in former Mayor Carrie Saxon Perry's administration, filed his candidate committee paperwork Thursday to set in motion a mayoral run of his own.

Wooden's application lists Ryan Greco as his treasurer and www.woodenformayor.com as the website to learn more about him.

Wooden is the second Democrat to make it official, joining J. Stan McCauley, who filed in September of 2009.

McCauley, a former Republican who was defeated by disgraced former Mayor Eddie A. Perez in 2007, lists Deborah Lewis as his treasurer and www.mccauleyformayor.com as the website to learn more about him.

Current Mayor Pedro Segarra has said that he would consider making a run of his own unless candidates he deemed as qualified to lead the city through troubled times stepped forward.
