Segarra Appoints New Corporation Counsel, Acting Chief of Staff

Mayor Pedro E. Segarra announced this afternoon that Jose F. Colon-Rivas has been named acting chief of staff and attorney Saundra Kee Borges was named corporation counsel.

Colon-Rivas, who is the executive director of the city's Office for Young Children, steps in for Susan McMullen, whose letter of resignation was accepted by Segarra late last month. Borges replaces John Rose, whose resignation also was accepted last month.

Colon-Rivas, who Segarra said will continue to carry out his duties with the Office for Young Children, will take on additional administrative and supervisory responsibilities as acting chief of staff.

Both positions are effective Monday.
