Hartford Teacher Wins National Award

Christine Tocionis, a language arts teacher at the R.J. Kinsella Magnet School of Performing Arts, is one of 25 teachers nationwide to get the 2009 MetLife Foundation Ambassadors in Education award.

Why? Because she got her students working a community garden, gardening at a community center, collecting donations for an animal shelter, and more
