Interactive Mapping Tutorial

HartfordInfo.org offers interactive mapping that enables users to view maps from a selection of information layers.

When you first open the map page, it will look like this:

To see various datasets, click on the down arrow next to "Total Population"

Clicking on any neighborhorhood will open an information box showing the names and values of the different indicators. To close this grey box, click on the "x" in the upper right corner.

To zoom in, click "Zoom In" on the tool bar directly above the map, then click and drag diagonally to draw a rectangle on the map in the area you want zoomed in.

To zoom out, click "Zoom Out" on the tool bar directly above the map, then click and drag diagonally to draw a rectangle on the map in the area you want to zoom out.

To return to the previous zoom level, click on "Previous View." To return to the first zoom level, click "Next View." To see the entire map again, click on "Full View "

To move the map to the left or right, click "Pan" on the tool bar, and then click and drag.

The page may be printed using your browsers "File>Print" function on the browser menu bar.

To return to the original settings for the tool bar, click "Deactivate."
